I'm Peter Sutton, proud owner of this family-owned timber business, located on the banks of the beautiful Tweed River in Murwillumbah.

At Tweed River Timbers, we believe every piece of Australian hardwood deserves a second life. What begins as a salvaged log is transformed into premium kiln-dried timber, raw live-edge slabs, custom furniture and architectural timber products that will be enjoyed for generations.

Our Story

Timber has always been a part of my life.

From a young age, I developed a deep appreciation for the beauty, character and craftsmanship found in Australian timber. Over the years, I saw countless quality logs being discarded or destroyed, despite having incredible potential.

That inspired me to create Tweed River Timbers.

What started as a passion for salvaging timber has grown into one of the region's most complete timber businesses, combining a traditional sawmill with modern timber processing, custom furniture manufacturing and architectural timber products.

Every slab, board and piece of furniture we produce begins with the same philosophy—respect the timber, minimise waste and create something built to last.
